Why not try making Korean mayo this time, using the regular ingredients you usually use to make your mayonnaise?

This Korean mayo is different from regular mayo, offering a deliciously creamy texture with a hint of spiciness from the gochujang.

This is my second Asian-inspired sauce featuring gochujang. Previously, I made the Yangnyeom Sauce, which adds wonderful flavor to fried chicken. Adding gochujang to this mayo gives it that Asian tasty and spicy flavor.

Also, this Korean mayo contains ingredients like sesame oil, soy sauce, and toasted sesame seeds which you get easily at any grocery store or supermarket.

Just from the name, Korean Mayo is a creamy delicious, and a little bit spicy mayo made in a Korean style, with some regular mayo ingredients and some Asian ingredients like Sesame oil, soy sauce, and of course gochujang, The Korean mayo turns out perfect, you can make this Korean style mayo for a new experience and flavors and enjoy it with some Korean dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (use low sodium if preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon gochujang
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make Korean Mayo?

Step 1:

Start by gathering all your ingredients. In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of rice vinegar, and 1 teaspoon of honey. add 1 teaspoon of gochujang (Korean chili paste) only if you want to add a spicy touch to your Mayo. Add 1 clove of minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of toasted sesame seeds to the mixture.

Stir the ingredients thoroughly until the mixture is smooth. Taste the mayo and adjust the seasoning as needed. If everything is good and you like the taste, transfer your Korean mayo to a jar and Enjoy.
