The yogurt is usually served with some nuts on top, but I preferred to add some cherries instead, For the yogurt, I used Greek yogurt, while the classic La Michoacana Yogurt is made with plain natural yogurt. So, it’s up to you to choose what you have on hand or what you love the most.

La Michoacana Yogurt is a special kind of yogurt that you can find at La Michoacana ice cream shops. It’s creamy and pink due to strawberries blended into it. This yogurt is also mixed with nuts and more strawberry pieces, You can use plain yogurt or Greek yogurt to make it, For my recipe I used the Greek one and the taste was so enjoyable. Also, honey and vanilla extract are added to the yogurt to make it sweet. It’s a refreshing yogurt, you may have fun making it, and it is perfect for hot days.

  • 1 cup strawberries, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granola
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or your favorite nuts)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)

How to Make La Michoacana Yogurt?

Wash the strawberries thoroughly with water and then chop them into small pieces. Take 1 cup of the chopped strawberries and blend them. Set aside the remaining 1/2 cup of chopped strawberries to add later for texture.

Step 2:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, honey, and vanilla extract. Stir well until all the ingredients are evenly mixed and the yogurt is smooth.

Step 3:

Pour the blended strawberries into the yogurt mixture. Stir until the yogurt turns a beautiful pink color, ensuring the strawberry puree is thoroughly mixed in.

Step 4:

Now, fold in the remaining strawberry chunks and half of the chopped nuts into the yogurt mixture, distributing them evenly throughout the yogurt.

Step 5:

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. scoop it into a long cold glass and Enjoy, the classic yogurt usually has some nuts on top, But I only add some cherry. Enjoy.
