Classic Caprese Skewers With Olive Oil Drizzle are quick and easy to assemble making them my go-to for snacks on the go and last-minute holiday party invites when I don’t feel like cooking but need to bring a dish.

The holidays are my favorite time of year. I love spending time catching up with old friends I haven’t seen in awhile and seeing what family members have been up to all year. I get a lot of party invites during the holidays and being the social butterfly that I am, I try to catch them all. Since I don’t like to show up empty-handed, I keep a collection of easy to make recipes at my fingertips and extra bottles of wine so I’m always prepared.

Classic Caprese Skewers With Olive Oil Drizzle - Man, That Looks Good!

One of my holiday and party side dishes is Classic Caprese Skewers With Olive Oil Drizzle.  These are easy to make, come together quickly, and don’t require many ingredients. Classic Caprese Skewers are always a hit because they are healthy, refreshing and a breath of fresh air for people who are tired of the heavy foods often found at holiday gatherings.

Pair these classic Caprese Skewers with fruity wines with high acidity, like a dry sparkling wine, Sauvignon Blanc, Fiano, Sancerre, Albariño, or Falanghina and you have a match made in heaven.

Making this side dish is super easy, just follow these easy steps.

  • First, you’ll need
    • Grape or cherry tomatoes
    • Fresh basil leaves
    • Fresh mini mozzarella balls
    • Skewers (If I’m taking these to a party I use wooden skewers however if the party is at my house, I  make mini skewers and use my metal skewers )
  • To assemble
    • Roll fresh mini mozzarella balls into Italian seasoning
    • Layer fresh mini mozzarella balls onto a wooden or metal skewer followed by a fresh basil leaf (fold the basil leaf of its too large) then add a cherry tomato.
    • Once you have several full assembled, lay them flat on a plate and drizzle with olive oil (I like to use good olive oil like this 4 pack of infused olive oils I picked up online), and serve. You can also pop them in the fridge covered in saran wrap if you are making them ahead.
