This summer, I’m excited to make and share many banana bread recipes, Right now, this Persimmon Banana Bread is the first one I’ve tried using a fruit beside bananas. I’ve already made the famous Rachael Ray’s Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips and recently shared an Asian twist with Banana Mochi Bread. And this is just the start, I’ve got at least 10 more recipes planned for this summer. If I can’t share them all this summer, I’ll definitely have them up before the end of the year, so stay tuned.

I got the idea to make this Persimmon Banana Bread after seeing many versions of banana bread made with popular fruits, but only a few with persimmons. Since I love trying new recipes, it seemed like a great challenge to make my own and share my experience, especially since I had never used or even tasted persimmons before.

One struggle I faced was finding persimmons at my local grocery store, so I ordered them from Amazon. My first impression was that they looked like orange tomatoes. Thankfully, they provided some ripe ones, which were perfect for this recipe. As I always suggest using ripe bananas and other fruits to make the best bread.

The recipe was fun and not hard at all. Everything went smoothly, and the bread turned out delicious, the interesting mix of banana and persimmon gave the bread a rich, slightly tangy, and sweet flavor.
