2 cups White Lily Self-Rising Cornmeal Mix 1 ¼ cups buttermilk ¼ cup vegetable oil or melted butter 1 large egg 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)

Turn on the oven to 425°F (220°C). If you have a heavy pan (I used a cast-iron skillet), put it in the oven to get hot.
